BOSTON, MA – Three men are facing federal charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Massachusetts jewelry store in which they allegedly got away with more than $500,000 worth of jewels and precious metals, authorities announced Thursday.

Robert Santana, a.k.a. “Amaury Perez,” a.k.a. “Piccarine,” 29, was arrested Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. Eric Rosario, a.k.a. “Maniactico,” 26 and Rosnel Polanco, 26, were previously arrested on related state charges and remain in custody.

All three have been charged with one count each of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, commonly referred to as Hobbs Act robbery.

On Dec. 15, 2023, the defendants allegedly entered a jewelry store in Lawrence while armed, while “numerous” employees were present.

The defendants allegedly robbed the employees of their jewelry and cell phones before bringing them downstairs at gunpoint to where the store’s safes were located in the basement.

Surveillance images shared by the U.S. Attorney’s Office show masked men pointing guns into employees’ and the store owner’s backs and toward their heads as they are forced to open safes.

The defendants allegedly forced the owner to open the safes.

One safe was opened, but a second safe could not be successfully opened. In total approximately $500,000 worth of jewelry and precious metals were taken.

The defendants allegedly fled in a rented Nissan Altima that was found burned in a field in Maine the next day.

If convicted, the defendants each face up to 20 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $250,000.
