LOS ANGELES, CA – Lily Allen revealed she adopted a puppy during the Covid-19 pandemic but returned it to the shelter after it at her family’s passports.

The English singer, 39, admitted returning the puppy on the Thursday episode of her “Miss Me?” podcast, during conversation with her guest co-host, Welsh TV personality Steve Jones.

Allen said she and her husband, “Stranger Things” star David Harbour, are thinking about getting a Chihuahua mix puppy and naming it after Real Madrid soccer star Jude Bellingham.

Jones said getting the dog would be “a hell of a commitment.” Allen shares daughters Ethel, 12, and Marnie, 11, with ex-husband Sam Cooper, and married Harbour in Las Vegas in 2020.

“You know what, we actually did adopt a dog together already, but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home,” Allen admitted. The dog ate her passport along with her daughters’.

“She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in and I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced because it was in Covid. And so it was just an absolutely logistical nightmare,” Allen said.

“And because the father of my children lives in England, I couldn’t get them back to see their dad for like four months, five months, because this f****ing dog had eaten their passports. I just couldn’t look at her. I was like, ‘You’ve ruined my life,’” she revealed.

But the passports were just the final straw, as Allen noted they weren’t the only thing the dog ate.

“She was a very badly behaved dog and I really tried very hard with her but it just didn’t work out and the passports was the straw that broke the camel’s back so to speak,” Allen said.
