Magers & Quinn Booksellers in Minneapolis
Are you in search of that next great book to sweep you away to another world? Are you looking for a cute date idea in a cozy neighborhood in Minneapolis? Whatever your bookish needs are, we’ve got you covered as we explore a hidden gem only the locals know about here in the Twin Cities.

One of our faves in the Twin Cities
One of our favorite bookstores in the Twin Cities is Magers & Quinn Booksellers. They are located in the heart of the fun and vibrant Uptown neighborhood. There’s so much to explore and do in this part of town, that you could make an entire day of visiting just this block!
This would make for a great date night…or just a fun time for anyone visiting the area.
First and foremost, start the day at Magers & Quinn Booksellers. They are open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week. If you’re a book lover, you could easily get lost at M&Q for hours upon hours. We especially love their travel section…it’s definitely the most robust in Minneapolis.
Did you know Magers & Quinn is one of the largest independent bookstores in the Midwest? It’s true! maybe this is because us Minnesotans love to read…heck, how else are you gonna spend a long winter?
Be sure to check out the really neat area of vintage and rare books. Here’s where you’ll find first editions, signed copies and more. The prices of these treasures are steep (serious collectors only!) but it’s really fun to look at. But don’t worry! Prices everywhere else in the store and very reasonable…especially in the Clearance section. We’ve scored some INCREDIBLE deals…for under five bucks. It’s definitely worth a look!

The Fun and Funky Uptown Neighborhood
From the outskirts of Panama City…to the vintage vibe of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Roaring 20s…with a stop in Thailand along the way
After spending hours at Magers & Quinn (and dreaming of all the books you fell in love with)…we suggest taking your new read across the street to Curioso Coffee Bar. They were originally an off-grid startup on the outskirts of Panama City…thankfully Minnesotans can enjoy their incredible coffee now! The atmosphere is cute and cozy. So curl up and enjoy the book you just bought at Magers & Quinn!
If you’re hungry for a bite, try Amazing Thailand. It serves, well, amazing Thai food. And it certainly lives up to its name! If you’re visiting in the summer, there’s a fun outdoor patio to enjoy your meal. Just look for the cute tuk-tuk hanging overhead…you’ll definitely want to snap a pic for your social media. Hehe.

End the day with drinks at the incredible Granada Theater. A gorgeous classic theater built in 1927, it’s been reinvented and is home to the Uptown Lobby Bar and Restaurant. Lavishly ornamented in a late Spanish baroque style, this Churrigueresque theater has been historically hip for close to a hundred years…so come experience the vibe of the 1920s. The Granada doesn’t have bartenders. They have “bootleggers” and “wine merchants” who will delight you with classic cocktails or suggest a wine from their carefully curated list. It’s tons of fun!
