MEMPHIS, TN – A Tennessee man is facing federal charges for allegedly threatening President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee announced Friday.
A federal indictment was returned on Aug. 20 charging Kyl Alton Hall, 37, with two counts of threats to a sitting president and vice president and one count of a threat to a former president.
According to the indictment, on July 27, Hall allegedly made “numerous” posts on X, formerly Twitter, threatening to kill, assassinate, shoot, and crash the plane of President Biden; to assassinate Vice President Harris; and to assassinate former President Obama.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service.
If convicted, Hall faces up to five years in prison for each charge.
