Gregory Trigg’s escape from the Mississippi State Penitentiary has left authorities scrambling for answers. The Mississippi Department of Corrections announced on Monday that they are working with law enforcement agencies to track down the 61-year-old inmate.

However, details regarding how or when Trigg escaped from the facility remain unclear at this time. Parchman Farm, located in Sunflower County in the northwestern part of the state, is one of the state’s highest-security prisons, housing inmates convicted of serious crimes.

A Lengthy Criminal Record

Trigg was serving a 61-year sentence after being convicted on nine charges spanning several counties. His crimes include armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, residential burglary, and conspiracy to commit a crime, among others. His offenses occurred in Madison, Rankin, and Scott Counties.

In addition to the violent crimes, Trigg was also convicted for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. With such a lengthy criminal history, authorities are taking the escape very seriously and are urging the public to help with the investigation.
