DULUTH, MN – A wedding photographer from Duluth, Minnesota claims to be “the most passionate storyteller on this side of Lake Superior,” but it turns out his passion took a perverted detour – after he allegedly recording a bride without her consent while she was partially undressed.
Mitchell Ringness, 30, who operates MR Photography and specializes in capturing weddings, engagements, and proposals, has been charged with a gross misdemeanor. The incident came to light when Ringness’s partner handed over a thumb drive containing the incriminating footage to the police in April.
The footage reportedly shows a bride in a dressing room, filmed from a low angle. The video captures the innocent woman topless and in her underwear.
Investigators discovered MR Photography’s Facebook page, which included a post about the victim’s wedding, confirming the identity of the bride and the wedding location – The Barn at Chapeau Shores in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
During a visit to the venue, detectives identified a small table where the recording device is believed to have been placed.
The shocked bride, who was unaware of the hidden camera, confirmed to the police that her wedding took place on October 10, 2020. She also provided wedding photos to the authorities, some of which showed Ringness’s camera bag with an unidentified object protruding from it.
Mitchell Ringness is scheduled to make his first court appearance on September 5. As of this morning, the lustful lensman removed all of his social media pages from the internet including his website, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook profiles. Let us know in the comments what you think should happen to Ringness – or please offer the bride and her family a helpful word of encouragement during this difficult time!
