Built in 1921 for just $38,000 by the talented August Klug and designed by local architect Charles L. Grover, this theater has seen it all. In its heyday, it seated 400 eager moviegoers and hosted vaudeville shows, radio performances, plays, and silent films. When “talkies” hit the scene in 1929, it became a hub for movies.

My hubby Jack and I lived in Zumbrota for a few years, and loved the quaint charm of this fun southern Minnesota town.
If you’re a history buff, you’ll love the Zumbrota Covered Bridge, the last one still standing in Minnesota. Dating back to 1869, it predates the arrival of railroads in the area, and it’s a listed treasure on the National Register of Historic Places.
