PARKVILLE, MO – A late-night explosion shattered the calm in Parkville, Missouri, leaving broken glass and unanswered questions at a newly opened Chase Bank. Investigators believe the damage may have been caused by a Molotov cocktail aimed at an ATM. I guess that’s one way to try to withdraw some money!
The small blast, which occurred Tuesday night at 9000 Tom Watson Parkway, damaged several windows. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as the bank had yet to open for business.
FBI and Local Police Investigate
The FBI’s Kansas City field office, working alongside the Parkville Police Department, is now urging the public to assist in identifying the person responsible for the attack.
Investigators suspect that the explosion was intentional and are actively gathering evidence to track down the culprit.
Though the damage was minor, the FBI is taking the incident seriously, as the method of attack could pose a larger threat if left unchecked. Authorities have released contact information for anyone with potential leads or insights, asking for tips via phone or online submission.
