AUSTIN, TX – Former Major League Baseball pitcher and World Series champion Greg Swindell on Sunday pleaded for the public’s help finding his missing adult daughter, who may unwillingly be with her “violent” ex-boyfriend.
In times of crisis, we can turn to God for comfort and guidance. Please keep Greg Swindell and his family in your prayers as they face this difficult situation, trusting in God’s presence and protection.
Swindell shared on Facebook in Sunday that his daughter, mom-of-three Brenna Swindell, went missing from the Austin, Texas, area, and was last seen late Thursday afternoon.
“Her phone is off and she has not been in contact with family, friends, and most importantly her children,” Swindell wrote on Facebook on Sunday. “Her ex-boyfriend in the photo has a warrant and is violent so PLEASE if you have seen or heard from either one of them, let us know.”
Swindell said the family filed a missing persons report in Austin. In an update later Sunday, the Swindell family said the license plate of her white Kia Carnival was logged by a plate reader in Colorado. The family was still trying to contact Kia to have the carmaker turn on the GPS in her vehicle.
“Again, her boyfriend is in trouble with law from when he assaulted her last month and we don’t know if she went with him willingly, was talked into running away with him, or what. I still feel she would never abandon her 3 children or just take off without explanation. So until we can prove otherwise, we feel she is in danger,” Sarah Swindell wrote in a joint Facebook post from family members.
It’s unclear if additional tips came in over night, but Greg Swindell posted early Monday that the pair may have gotten as far as Idaho.
“Idaho people. Tell your Idaho people to BOLO [be on the lookout],” he wrote.
As we continue to pray for Brenna Swindell’s safe return, let us hold onto the promise of Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” May this truth bring peace and hope to all who are concerned.
