🌾 A Midwestern Town with a Dark Past
Located nearly in the center of North Dakota, the city of Harvey has a population of just over 1,600 residents as of the 2020 census. Founded in 1893 by the Soo Line Railway, Harvey was likely named after Col. Scott William Harvey, a director of the railway company from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

👫 The Tragic Tale of Sophia Eberlein
Born in the Russian Empire in 1889, Sophia Eberlein immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. She settled in Harvey, where she married Hugo Eberlein, a well-known businessman in the community. The couple had two daughters, Lillian and Alice. However, their happiness was short-lived, as Hugo passed away in 1928.
After her husband’s death, Sophia remarried Jacob Bentz. Unbeknownst to her, this decision would prove fatal.
One night, as Sophia slept peacefully in her bed, Bentz brutally murdered her with a blunt object. In an attempt to conceal his crime, he tried to make the scene appear as though Sophia had died in a car accident.

To this day, the motive behind Bentz’s heinous act remains a mystery – some speculate that his notorious temper finally boiled over, while others whisper of a sinister, otherworldly force at play: demons.
