NASHVILLE, TN – It began like any other afternoon at a Nashville jewelry store—quiet, routine, unremarkable. But when the dust settled, the thieves had escaped with gold, luxury items, and even a $95,000 belt. The total haul? Nearly $2 million. Days later, two suspects were tracked down at a swanky beachfront hotel, miles from the crime scene. Now, the clock is ticking as police intensify their search for the elusive third accomplice.
Two Suspects Caught at Grand Beach Hotel
Milleni Garcia, 38, and Orlando Valdes Hernandez, 34, were arrested at the Grand Beach Hotel in Miami Beach on Sunday. According to Miami Beach police, officers found cash, jewelry, and a blonde wig among their belongings.
The pair had been wanted in connection with a brazen robbery that took place just a few days earlier at Dubai Jewelry, located on Nolensville Pike in Nashville, Tenn. Authorities suspect Garcia was the person seen wearing the blonde wig in surveillance footage released to the public.
Details of the $1.7 Million Jewelry Heist
On Oct. 23, Garcia, Valdes Hernandez, and a third unidentified suspect entered the jewelry store pretending to browse. That facade didn’t last long. They soon drew firearms and threatened store employees, police said.
The thieves made off with high-value items, including gold, a gold brick, the designer belt, and various pieces of jewelry—altogether worth an estimated $1.7 million.
A Multi-State Effort Brings Results
Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones commended the successful collaboration with Nashville law enforcement.
“The apprehension of these suspects demonstrates our commitment to supporting other law enforcement agencies and ensuring public safety,” Jones said in a statement.
“I commend my detectives and partners at the Metro Nashville Police Department for their hard work and resolve in bringing these violent offenders to justice.”
Garcia and Valdes Hernandez are being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Authorities said they will be extradited to Tennessee to face multiple charges related to the robbery.
Manhunt Continues for Third Suspect
Despite the arrests, the investigation is still active. The third suspect, whose identity remains unknown, is still on the run. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating this individual.
Criminals may try to run, but thanks to relentless teamwork, they’re finding there’s no safe hiding spot—not even under a sunny Miami sky.
