NASHVILLE, TN – Downtown Nashville, Tennessee buzzed with action Saturday night as undercover cops busted two out-of-state men peddling nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Entertainment District Unit and Violent Crimes Division detectives swooped in, snagging the suspects after a cleverly orchestrated online deal went down. By the end of the night, authorities had confiscated a jaw-dropping stash—and the culprits were in cuffs.
Undercover Deal Goes Bust
The operation targeted 35-year-old Raymond Edwards from Cincinnati, Ohio, and 28-year-old Ty’Juan Dugger from Tempe, Arizona. Posing as buyers, officers arranged to purchase the gas through a covert online exchange.
When the devious duo rolled up in their vehicle, police pounced, catching them red-handed with the illicit goods. The takedown unfolded seamlessly in Nashville’s lively downtown core, proving law enforcement means business.
Massive Haul Uncovered
Inside the suspects’ ride, cops found 46 cans of nitrous oxide—totaling a hefty 51,000 grams. That’s enough laughing gas to fuel a small army of partygoers.
Alongside the cans, authorities nabbed drug paraphernalia, sealing the case against the pair.
For the crafty conmen, the trouble didn’t end there—police uncovered marijuana joints on Edwards during the arrest, piling on an extra drug possession charge.
Charges Stack Up, Bond Paid
Both Edwards and Dugger now face charges for the sale or delivery of inhaling fumes, plus drug paraphernalia possession. The Cincinnati schemer’s additional drug possession rap adds more weight to his legal woes.
Despite the serious allegations, the two posted an $11,000 bond and walked free early Sunday morning. Nashville police remain tight-lipped on whether more arrests could follow in this nitrous oxide crackdown.
This high-stakes sting shines a spotlight on Nashville’s fight against illegal gas sales, leaving locals buzzing about the bust.
