Teen’s Trainwreck Stunt for YouTube Lands Him in Hot Water!
OMAHA, NE – A Nebraska teen’s quest for YouTube fame took a shocking turn as he allegedly derailed trains just for some “insane” footage! The 17-year-old, whose identity remains under wraps, is now facing serious charges. We have the video of this shocking act towards the end of this article – don’t miss it!
Caught in the Act
The drama unfolded on April 21 in Bennet, Nebraska. The young daredevil posted a five-minute video of the derailment, boasting it was the “MOST INSANE VIDEO I’VE EVER TAKEN!”
The video shows two locomotives and five fully loaded railcars coming off the rails after hitting an empty one. Miraculously, they stayed upright, but the damage was a whopping $350,000!
Shock and Awe
As the trains derailed, the teen could be heard gasping, “Oh my God! Oh my frickin’ God!”
Despite the chaos, no injuries were reported. In a bizarre twist, he was the first to report the accident and even approached an investigator at the scene to flaunt his footage.
The Investigation Heats Up
Authorities weren’t impressed by his stunt. They obtained a search warrant to seize the teen’s cellphone and 4K digital recorder, the tools of his reckless trade. The footage, also shared with a local news station, helped lead to his charges.
Facing the Consequences
Now, the teen is facing two counts of criminal mischief, each carrying potential penalties of a $15,000 fine and up to seven years in prison.
As investigators pieced together the events, a train conductor revealed the derailment was due to a misaligned switch. The padlock for the switch was missing, hinting at foul play.
The Evidence Piles Up
Despite the teen’s denial of trespassing and tampering, surveillance footage told a different story.
A beige 1996 Buick Park Avenue was seen near the tracks just before the incident. The footage then showed the teen walking towards the switch, sealing his fate.
Courtroom Drama Ahead
As the case unfolds, a motion has been filed to transfer it from juvenile court to county court. The teen’s quest for viral fame has landed him in a real-life legal nightmare, showcasing the dangers of chasing internet stardom.

Ummm I watched the only video that was in this article and I didn’t see anything that would lead me to believe that the kid caused this. That is not to say there isn’t something else that wasn’t shown. If your not going to show the evidence of guilt don’t imply it. Remember innocent till proven guilty.
Right, right, just happened to have the camera rolling for such and event! Wow, what are the odds? Hhhhhmmmmmm
How did the kid know for one what took place before the train hit? And how did he know what they didnt do right? I mean if i was driving home from work and saw a train how would i know if they set the track right unless i was involved or did it myself. Also why was he sitting there with his camera rolling like he knew what was going to happen and when? When your driving down the road and see a train who has the time to set up the perfect spot to film? Those trains go pretty fast faster then your car. I think he was involved with makeing that crash happen. Just by hearing the story and watching the video. I am sure the surveillance cameras will steal his deal in feet of him being incarcerated.
