BRIDGETON, NJ – Police in New Jersey are asking the public’s help identifying a woman captured on video entering a zoo enclosure and teasing a tiger, nearly getting bitten.

The Bridgeton Police Department on Tuesday shared a video that showed the unidentified woman partially inside the tiger enclosure at the Cohanzick Zoo, between the wooden fence she climbed over and a smaller, wire fence.

The woman can be seen bending over and holding her hand out through the wire fence.

The tiger initially appears to nuzzle her hand like a domestic cat would, then nips at her, becoming more energetic as the woman stands up straight and retreats from the enclosure.

Although the video was released on Tuesday, it’s unclear when it was recorded.

“Reminder to the public when visiting the zoo that it is against City Ordinance to climb over any fence,” police wrote on Facebook, alongside a photo of a sign on the enclosure stating the same.

Police are asking anyone with information about the woman’s identity to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
