Drones at Minnesota Nuclear Plant

This is NewsChat: your source for the Truth in today’s news. Today is Saturday, January 11, 2025 and I’m your host Jack Norton from JackAndKitty.com.

Well, the drone mystery that started in New Jersey continues to spread across the United States – you just won’t hear most mainstream media reporting on it – but we will.

At least two drones were spotted flying near the Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Welch, Minnesota, on Wednesday evening, prompting a response from local law enforcement.

Minnesota – only has two nuclear facilities, and this is one of them. It on the banks lof the Mississippi River and is just a hop, skip and a jump away from our broadcast studios.

At around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, dispatch received reports of “four to five” drones in the area.

Officers from the Red Wing Police Department and Prairie Island Tribal Police arrived to monitor the situation and observed two drones flying around the plant and Lock and Dam #3.

However, after some time, the drones mysteriously disappeared, and authorities were unable to locate the pilot or pilots responsible for flying them.

The Red Wing Police Department says there is no active threat to the public, and no further investigation is being pursued.

But this response doesn’t seem good enough for many in the area.

Federal regulations prohibit drones from flying over nuclear power plants, such as Prairie Island, to ensure the safety of critical infrastructure.

As the news of mysterious drones buzzing around America circulates, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of speculation.

Could they be aliens? A foreign government’s covert operation? Or just elaborate pranksters trying to stir up trouble?

It’s not hard to get lost down these rabbit holes, especially when we’re faced with something strange and unexplained.

But as Christians, we can rest in the peace that comes from knowing the truth—Jesus is in control of all things.

We don’t need to fear the unknown, no matter how big or small.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”

Whether the drones were a harmless prank or something more ominous, we know that nothing happens outside of God’s sovereign will.

Our redemption through Jesus gives us the security and assurance that we don’t need to live in fear of the unknown.

In the face of any uncertainty, we can trust in His promises and hold on to the peace that only He provides. As for me, I’m going with aliens.

Pothead Assaults Parents and Cops

A 20-year-old man-child from Pennsylvania, Evan Gabriel Houseman, faces multiple charges after allegedly attacking his parents and later assaulting police officers during a temper tantrum.

The violent episode began on January 5, when the mother of this Pennsylvania pothead refused to give him money for marijuana, sparking an argument that escalated overnight.

The next morning, Houseman reportedly grabbed his mother, put her in a headlock, and threatened to kill her.

When his father got involved, Houseman threw a TV and Xbox down the stairs, damaging both and injuring his father.

He then allegedly pushed his father down, put him in a headlock, and threatened to kill him.

When police arrived, Houseman resisted arrest, requiring officers to use a Taser to subdue him.

During his arrest, he kicked officers multiple times.

Both parents were hospitalized for their injuries, and Houseman was taken for a mental evaluation before being booked into York County Prison.

He faces charges including assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, and resisting arrest, with a court appearance scheduled for February 5.

So how do we, as Christians, look at this incident? The same way any sensible parent from any faith or walk of life should: with critical thinking.

The Bible calls us to raise children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), but at some point, we must recognize that children grow into adults who must take responsibility for their own actions.

In this case, Evan Houseman, a 20-year-old man child, showed a disturbing lack of maturity and self-control when he lashed out violently because his mother refused to buy him weed.

This behavior is not just a momentary lapse in judgment; it signals a deeper issue of entitlement, emotional instability, and a lack of accountability.

It may even signal something more troubling: demonic possession.

Either way, as parents, it’s important to set boundaries and not tolerate destructive behavior, especially from adult children.

If a grown child is exhibiting violent temper tantrums and refusing to take responsibility for his actions, it’s time to cut the apron strings and let them face the consequences of their choices.

This doesn’t mean abandoning them emotionally, but it may require a difficult decision—such as removing them from the home to ensure both their growth and the safety of the household. In short, kick the loser out – it’s the only hope for him to become a winner.

Allowing a young adult to continue living under the same roof, especially while engaging in dangerous or violent behavior, can enable their destructive habits.

Ultimately, the goal is not punishment, but restoration.

We are called to love, but we are also called to help our children mature and walk in the light of Christ.

Sometimes, that means tough love, which can be the catalyst for change, bringing them back to their senses and into a place where they can learn responsibility and accountability for their actions. I pray for this poor family and hope things resolve soon.

Pastor’s Million-Dollar Crypto Scam

Florida pastor Francier Obando Pinillo, age 51, has been charged with 26 counts of fraud in connection with a cryptocurrency scam that defrauded victims of millions of dollars.

Pastor Pinillo, who once led a Spanish-language church in Washington state, allegedly used his position to solicit investments in a fake crypto business called Solano Fi.

Between November 2021 and October 2023, he promised investors guaranteed returns of 34.9% per month through a “safe” cryptocurrency staking program, while using social media and a Telegram group to recruit victims.

Friends, here’s a little finanical tip: if someone offers you returns of 35% on any investment, do not walk away… run! Run for all your life!

Back to the story. Here’s how this pastor’s scam worked.

The app investors were shown did not allow withdrawals, but instead presented fake balances, funneling funds directly into accounts controlled by Pastor Pinillo and his co-conspirators.

When victims attempted to withdraw their money, Pastor Pinillo claimed the market needed to improve or that the app was down.

Pastor Pinillo now faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each of the 26 fraud charges if convicted.

As Christians, we are called to exercise discernment and wisdom, especially when it comes to trusting others with our resources.

While pastors are meant to be leaders who guide their congregations with integrity, the reality is that not all are above reproach.

It is crucial to remember that, even in positions of spiritual authority, individuals can be tempted or even fall into sin.

In the Bible, Jesus famously drove the money changers out of the temple, condemning the exploitation of people under the guise of faith.

In Matthew 21:12-13, He says, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.'”

This story serves as a cautionary tale for us today.

While we are called to support those who minister to us, we are also called to be wise stewards of what God has entrusted to us.

Trusting blindly, especially with our finances, can lead to harm.

As believers, we should always seek the truth and remain vigilant when faced with opportunities that seem too good to be true—especially when they involve promises of quick returns or “guaranteed” success. 35% returns… Lord, have mercy.

Thanks for listening to NewsChat – now if the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll see you again tomorrow morning. I hope you are staying warm and cozy wherever this podcast finds you. Remember, Jesus loves you and you deserve to feel good today! Take care.
