Border Patrol Rescues Abducted Child

This is NewsChat: your source for the Truth in today’s news. Today is Tuesday, January 7, 2025 and I’m your host Jack Norton from JackAndKitty.com.

Border Patrol agents in California recently rescued a 6-year-old child who had been abducted during a custody dispute in Texas.

On January 3, agents stopped a suspicious SUV on Interstate 8 east of San Diego.

The vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old woman, contained another adult woman and the child.

After verifying their identities, agents discovered an active warrant for the driver’s arrest, issued by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, for interference with child custody.

The driver was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service, and the child was placed with Child Protective Services and will soon be reunited with her family.

San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Patricia McGurk-Daniel commended the agents for their quick response, emphasizing how their vigilance went beyond traditional border security duties to ensure the child’s safety.

Friends, divorce is a deeply painful and tragic event, but the Bible provides guidance on how to handle such situations with compassion, respect, and a focus on what is best for the children involved.

In Matthew 19:6, Jesus says, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

This speaks to the sacredness of marriage, and while the Bible recognizes that divorce may occur due to the hardness of human hearts (Matthew 19:8), it also emphasizes the importance of protecting the well-being of all parties, especially children.

Now, the Bible does not directly address the modern concept of custody disputes, as the framework for family law was different in biblical times.

However, biblical principles can still offer insight into how to approach situations involving children and family disputes, emphasizing values such as protection, care, and love.

Parents have a responsibility to care for and nurture their children, ensuring they grow up in an environment of love and stability.

The Bible speaks to the importance of both parents being involved in a child’s life, but also acknowledges that situations of conflict and harm may require intervention for the safety and well-being of the child.

Ultimately, actions should reflect God’s love, care, and justice, with a focus on the child’s safety and emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.

Boy Burned by ‘Friends’ at Sleepover

Now, a heartbreaking story. A sleepover prank in Tifton, Georgia, took a horrifying turn when a group of young boys allegedly poured boiling water on their 12-year-old friend while he was asleep.

The prank left the boy with second-degree burns to much of his face, requiring immediate surgery.

His mother, Tiffany West, was devastated by the attack and rushed him to a burn center in Augusta for treatment.

Doctors say it will take 12 to 14 days for him to physically heal, but the emotional recovery will take much longer.

The three boys responsible for the incident, ages 12 to 15, are facing charges, though details about the charges remain unclear.

The community has rallied around the family, offering support and prayers, as the victim’s mother expresses gratitude for the kindness shown.

Despite the trauma, the boy’s mother calls him a “warrior” and emphasizes her relief that he is alive and recovering.

Should the boys be held responsible for their actions? Absolutely.

As Christians, we believe in personal accountability. The Bible teaches that each person is responsible for their own actions.

In Galatians 6:7, it says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

These boys need to face the consequences of their behavior, as their actions caused serious harm to another.

They must understand that actions have consequences, and part of that process is holding them accountable.

But should their parents be held responsible too? No question. 100% yes.

Proverbs 22:6 teaches us, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Parents play a crucial role in shaping the moral compass of their children.

When children are allowed to engage in harmful behavior, especially without any guidance or discipline, it speaks to a failure in teaching them right from wrong.

The Bible calls parents to raise their children with wisdom and discipline, which involves teaching them the value of respect, kindness, and compassion toward others.

Since these boys were clearly not taught those values, their parents must take some responsibility.

So is this a case of bad kids, or bad parents? Obvioiusly, both – my heart breaks for the victim in this story, because even after the physical scars are gone, the emotional ones will no doubt last a lifetime. Please keep the son of Tiffany West in your prayers.

Convicted Killer Murders Again

A convicted murderer from Minnesota, Mustafa Bush, has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his girlfriend, Kimberly Ann Robinson.

Bush, 41, was on supervised release after serving 14 years for a prior murder when he took Robinson’s life.

Her body was discovered in a snowy ditch in Olmsted County – which is near Rochester, Minnesota – on December 26, 2022, just days after she was last seen at a holiday party.

Robinson, a mother of three, had been in an abusive relationship with Bush, and a witness testified about seeing Bush near the crime scene before her body was found.

Bush was convicted of first-degree and second-degree murder, and his sentence ensures he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Robinson’s family, left heartbroken, continues to seek justice and cope with the profound loss of a beloved mother and friend.

Friends, the Bible teaches us that murder is a grave sin, and justice must be served for such an offense.

In the case of Mustafa Bush, who was already convicted of murder once before and went on to kill again, the Scriptures provide clear guidance.

In Genesis 9:6, it says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”

This passage affirms the sanctity of human life and the principle of justice that follows the taking of life.

Bush’s repeated violent actions suggest that there should be no second chances for someone who is so willing to take the life of another.

His history of murder and abuse shows a disregard for God’s commandment to love one another and a lack of remorse for the suffering caused.

The Bible also speaks to the importance of accountability and justice. Proverbs 17:15 says, “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent—the Lord detests them both.”

While we are called to forgive and show mercy, there is also a responsibility to ensure that justice is carried out, especially in cases of murder where the life of another person has been violently taken.

This tragedy is a clear example of why justice, in the form of life sentences for those who commit such crimes, is necessary and biblical.
