Woman Uses Bibles for Smuggling
This is NewsChat: your source for the Truth in today’s news. Today is Wednesday, February 19, 2025 and I’m your host Jack Norton from JackAndKitty.com.
A California woman is heading to prison after a shocking drug smuggling scheme. Lucresia Stone-Rojas, 46, was sentenced to seven years after authorities caught her trying to sneak heroin into state prisons—hidden inside Bibles.
She was first arrested on November 12, 2023, when police pulled her over in a stolen Porsche and found a loaded 9mm Walther handgun. As a convicted felon, she was charged with unlawful gun possession.
Just weeks later, on December 27, federal investigators found Lucresia with packages addressed to prison inmates containing two Bibles with 23 grams of heroin hidden in the spines.
Acting U.S. Attorney Andrew Haden warned that drug smuggling in prisons won’t be tolerated.
Now, good ol’ Lucresia will spend the next seven years behind bars—where she’ll have plenty of time to read the Bible.
Friends, it’s sad when addiction and greed corrupts the human heart, leading to the desecration of God’s Holy Word.
The Bible is meant to bring hope and healing – not heroin! In this case, it was twisted into a tool for destruction.
Smuggling drugs inside Scripture not only disrespects God’s truth but also endangers lives, fueling the very addiction that keeps so many in bondage.
But know this: even in the darkest situations, God’s mercy is still available. The same Bible that was misused for evil has the power to transform hearts—including the woman at the center of this crime.
True repentance and faith in Christ can break the chains of addiction and sin, offering a new path for anyone willing to turn back to Him. Let us pray for this poor woman’s soul.
Parents Storm School Over LGBTQIA+ Book
A school board meeting in Penfield, New York, spiraled into chaos this week when a large group of parents confronted officials over a controversial book shown to elementary school children.
The book, “The Rainbow Parade: A Celebration of LGBTQIA+ Identities and Allies”, includes depictions that many parents deemed inappropriate, such as nudity and homosexual BDSM imagery.
By the way, if you’re not keeping up with the never-ending acronym that will soon run out of letters in the alphabet these days, LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and then the plus sign (+) representing additional sexual orientations and gender identities.
Honestly, I think we should just go with ABCDEFG… all the way to Z. That we everyone is included and no letter is left out.
Seriously though, back to this bonkers story. The enraged crowd of parents demanded answers from the school board and Superintendent Tasha Potter, leading to a heated exchange that ended with the meeting being abruptly cut short.
The book, intended to teach kids about diversity and gender identity, was shown to children as young as five.
Parents argued that such material was entirely unsuitable for young students, and the video of the tense meeting quickly went viral, drawing national attention – especially after it was shared on X by Elon Musk.
As the controversy continues to gain momentum, the Penfield School Board remains silent, offering no comment on the escalating debacle.
You know, as a Christian and an author, I believe in the freedom of speech and the right for individuals to express their views, no matter how controversial.
We live in America – where, thank God, we have freedom – but freedom does not provide you with a free pass to insanity.
Yes, this freedom should not extend to using our tax dollars at our public schools as a platform to push agendas on young children who are too immature to understand complex topics like gender identity and LGBTQIA+ issues.
“The Rainbow Parade: A Celebration of LGBTQIA+ Identities and Allies” – come on, people, these are kindergartners—let them focus on the simple joys of childhood, like finger paints and snacks. I mean, when I was five I was eating paste and laughing at Sesame Street! Heck, my wife Kitty is kinda scared because I stil do that today!
I’m kidding, of course, but my point today is this: while we should respect everyone’s personal rights here in America, it is critical that our schools stick to their primary responsibility: educating children in a balanced, ethical, and non-biased way.
Friends, understand: this is NOT a take-down on the LGBTQIA+ community, this is a take-down on so called “educators” not doing their job of educating in an ethical, fair and non-biased manner.
Introducing these sensitive issues at such a young age is not education, it’s indoctrination. Freedom should never come at the cost of our children’s innocence.
You know, there was a time in this country where good, old-fashioned family values and common sense reigned supreme. Where did we go wrong?
Where the heck did we go wrong?
Five year olds.
At the age of five, children are just beginning to explore the world around them, developing foundational skills that focus on basic concepts. They can recognize and name shapes, colors, and might even start reading simple words.
They are learning social skills, such as sharing, cooperation, and following simple rules in group activities.
Their cognitive abilities are still in the early stages, focused on simple problem-solving and basic logic. 5-year-olds can hold simple conversations.
Fine motor skills are also developing at this age. Children can draw basic shapes, write their names, and engage in simple activities like cutting with scissors or dressing themselves. Gross motor skills, like running and jumping, are becoming more refined.
At this age, children are naturally curious and innocent, far more focused on simple joys like play, imagination, and forming friendships than on complex or abstract ideas.
This is a crucial time for nurturing their sense of wonder and emotional growth, without overwhelming them with adult concepts.
That’s it.
I’m done.
What is wrong with humans? Let your kids be kids!
You know the sad thing about all this? I inherently believe in the author’s right to publish books like this, and I believe in a parent’s right to buy books like this. Book burning is never the answer.
Common sense and wisdom is always the answer. And you know what? There’s a book just chock-full of that: it’s called the Holy Bible.
Five year olds.
I’m at a loss for words right now. Seriously, how do you even respond to stories like this?

Dangerous Trucker
A Florida truck driver is accused of causing a terrifying crash that sent a woman and her 3-year-old child into a pond before driving away to make his delivery.
Authorities say 69-year-old Alton Winters switched lanes, hit the woman’s car, and forced it off the highway. Instead of stopping, he allegedly slowed down briefly before continuing down the road.
The mother managed to escape the sinking car and pull her child to safety before first responders arrived. Thank God! Both were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Deputies later tracked Winters down for an arrest, charging him with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries and citing him for improper lane change.
When questioned, Winters allegedly admitted to hitting the car but claimed he kept going because he “had to make a delivery.”
Friends, I love truckers. Kitty and I are both musicians and we’ve toured so much we’re practically truckers ourselves. One year we logged 60,000 miles criss crossing the highways of America singing and preaching.
I feel like we practically lived at truck stops that year. Truckers are good people. But it’s obvious that this man’s selfishness and lack of compassion, goes against the teachings of Christ.
Philippians 2:4 tells us, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Choosing to drive away instead of stopping to help a poor mother and her little baby child in danger reflects a heart focused on personal gain rather than love and responsibility.
Jesus calls us to care for one another, showing mercy and kindness, not turning a blind eye when others are in need.
And hey, its winter and the roads are icy and its cold all across America – so when you say your prayers tonight, please give a shout out to all those truckers who keep our country rocking and rolling!
Thanks for listening to NewsChat – now if the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll see you again tomorrow morning. I hope you have a great day. Remember, Jesus loves you and you deserve to feel good today! Take care.
