Trump’s ‘Superwoman’ Press Secretary
This is NewsChat: your source for the Truth in today’s news. Today is Thursday, February 20, 2025 and I’m your host Jack Norton from JackAndKitty.com.
Karoline Leavitt is making history as the youngest-ever White House Press Secretary at just 27 years old—but that’s not the only milestone she’s juggling.
Just days after giving birth to her son, Niko, in July 2024, she was back on the job, resuming her role as spokesperson for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign only four days postpartum.
Now, after Trump’s victory, she commands the White House press room while balancing motherhood.
Leavitt’s journey has been anything but ordinary. She campaigned for Trump while pregnant, watched the former president survive an assassination attempt just three days after giving birth, and never stepped away from her duties.
Now, as a working mother in a fast-paced administration, she embraces the challenge, joining a legacy of women Trump has elevated in politics. Despite the pressures of the job, she says being a mom only makes her stronger in her role.
Karoline’s story reflects the incredible strength and dedication of motherhood, a role that the Bible honors as one of the highest callings for women.
Proverbs 31 praises a woman who is both hardworking and devoted to her family, showing that faith and responsibility can go hand in hand. While balancing career and motherhood is challenging, Scripture reminds us that children are a blessing from the Lord, and a mother’s influence shapes the next generation
Leavitt’s ability to embrace both roles demonstrates perseverance, but it also brings to mind the importance of family as a God-given priority. Please continue to cover her – and the entire Trump administration – in your prayers.
Homeless Kids Freeze to Death
Two young siblings, a 9-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sister, froze to death inside a van in Detroit after their homeless mother’s repeated pleas for shelter went unanswered.
The family had been living in the vehicle for months, parking near a casino for safety and access to restrooms. Imagine the millions of dollars coming and going out of this gambling den of sin – what would have happened if someone from the casino gave her a few hundred bucks instead of feeding slot machines like Satan on a Saturday night!
I can’t even comprehend the gravity of this story.
On the night of the tragedy, her van ran out of gas, leaving the entire family exposed to the freezing temperatures.
The children’s mother, Tateona Williams, woke up to find her son unresponsive and desperately tried CPR, only to discover her daughter was also not breathing. Both children were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
City officials have since confirmed that Williams reached out for help in November, but no action was taken, and no outreach workers followed up. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan has called for an immediate review of the city’s homeless services, acknowledging critical failures in the system. Yeah, you think?
Williams, now in a shelter with her surviving children, questions why it took such a tragedy for help to arrive. Meanwhile, a Detroit funeral home has stepped forward to provide services for the two children at no cost.
I can’t even right now. What am I supposed to say?
Friends, Jesus Christ called us to care for the most vulnerable, as He commanded in Matthew 25:40, saying: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
As followers of Christ, we are called to act, not just with words but with real compassion—providing shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, and love for the forgotten.
No one should have to beg for help while the body of Christ stands idly by. And I shutter to think how many patrons of this casino are good so-called Christians, feeding slot machines on Saturdays and collection plates on Sundays – all while a homeless family freezes to death in the parking lot.
Wake up! Do something! This is a call to step up, to open our hearts, and to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
A 9 year old boy and a 2 year old girl freezing to death in America – the richest and most abundant country in the world!
Think about that one for a second.
A 9 year old boy.
A a little girl, just 2 years old.

Houdini Hound Strikes Again
Ok, this story is just too cute not to share with you. Scrim, the runaway rescue dog of New Orleans, has been found safe once again after months on the loose.
The small but fearless white Terrier, known for his Houdini-like escapes, vanished in November after leaping 13 feet from a second-story window.
Since then, he’s been spotted all over the city—traveling from Uptown to Mid-City, disappearing on Christmas, reappearing for New Year’s fireworks, seen wandering through Mardi Gras chaos and Super Bowl celebrations and even witnessed frolicking on the streets during a rare 10-inch snowfall.
Rescuers from Trap Dat Cat (which by the way is one of the best named animal rescues in the county) finally caught up with Scrim, and despite some intestinal parasites, he’s in good health.
His history of escapes has made him a local legend, with residents tracking his movements and trying to bring him home.
This time, Zeus’ Rescues has lined up a new home with plenty of space and other dogs to keep him company. But with Scrim’s track record, it’s anyone’s guess whether this Houdini hound is truly ready to settle down.
Thanks for listening to NewsChat – now if the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll see you again tomorrow morning. I hope you have a great day. Remember, Jesus loves you and you deserve to feel good today! Take care.
