Unbeknownst to Garcia, the site was a parody, originally created for a failed cybersecurity venture. However, its dark humor struck a chord with those harboring sinister intentions, including Garcia.

He submitted an application, boasting about his “military experience and rifle expertise,” even claiming the nickname “Reaper” for his marksmanship skills.

FBI Sting Operation Unmasks Wannabe Assassin

What followed was a series of events that reads like a crime thriller. An undercover FBI agent, posing as a representative from the website, met with Garcia at a Hendersonville, Tennessee park.

The young guardsman, believing he had secured the position of a hitman, eagerly accepted a packet containing details of a fictional target and a $2,500 down payment. He even inquired about providing proof of the completed “job.”

Law enforcement swiftly intervened, arresting Garcia and uncovering an AR-style rifle in his home. This case serves as a stark reminder of the potential for violence lurking within our communities, even among those we trust to safeguard us.
