OLATHE, KS – A construction site in Olathe, Kansas, became the scene of a tense investigation Thursday night after armed suspects reportedly tied up the only employee on duty. The Olathe Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, responded to reports of an armed disturbance at a warehouse under construction near West 167th Street and South US 169 Highway.

According to the Olathe Police Department, the call came in around 8:40 p.m., with the reporting party stating that several unknown suspects, dressed in black and carrying handguns, entered the unfinished warehouse.

The caller reported that these suspects had allegedly restrained the lone employee on site.

Police Secure Site and Find Injured Employee

Upon arrival, officers secured the area before locating the employee, an adult man who was safely removed from the building. Medical personnel treated him at the scene for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police did not confirm if the employee was still tied up when they arrived.

Law enforcement officers conducted a search of the warehouse and found no other individuals present, Olathe Police stated.

The investigation is ongoing, with officers “currently following up on active leads,” the department noted. Authorities are urging anyone who may have information related to the incident to reach out to the Olathe Police Department at (913) 971-6363 or contact the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-8477.
