An estimated 15,000 souls were laid to rest here, including influential developers, religious leaders, mayors, judges, and benefactors whose names grace Omaha’s streets, parks, and schools.

Among the cemetery’s most intriguing residents is Anna Wilson, a former madam who ran Omaha’s largest brothel before turning to philanthropy in her later years. In a final act of defiance against the judgment of “respectable” society, Wilson arranged to be buried beneath nine feet of concrete, in a slab the exact dimensions of her king-sized bed! LOL.
