Location: Pavek Museum, 3517 Raleigh Avenue, St. Louis Park, MN 55416

If you’ve never experienced a live radio play, you’re in for a treat. The Pavek Museum’s annual signature fundraising event, Pavek After Dark, is back with an exciting twist.

DON’T MISS: Meet Spotify’s Great Grandpa: The Pavek Museum’s Journey from Radios to Revolution!

This year’s theme, A Minnesota Frankenstein, features a live radio play performed by members of the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame. These talented broadcasters will bring Frankenstein’s monster to life (with a little local flair), creating a ‘Minnesota-ized’ version of the classic tale.

We’re hoping there’s mention of tater tot hotdish or lutefisk! Hehe. The experience will be enhanced by the artistry of Foley sound effects from renowned Foley Artist Katharine Horowitz.

Here’s how the night will unfold:

  • VIP Experience: VIP guests can kick off the evening with an exclusive meet-and-greet session with the cast at 5:30 PM. VIP+ ticket holders get the added bonus of front-row seating during the performance.
  • Silent Auction: All guests are invited to enjoy appetizers and drinks while participating in a silent auction starting at 6 PM. Proceeds will benefit the Pavek Museum’s mission to preserve and celebrate the history of broadcasting.
  • The Show: At 7 PM, the silent auction will close, and guests will head into the theater for the live radio performance.
  • Post-Show Reception: After the show, there’s more to enjoy. Stick around for dessert and mingle with the cast and other attendees.

This is a great opportunity to support a local gem while enjoying an evening of entertainment and good company. Don’t forget, all proceeds from the silent auction help keep the Pavek Museum’s mission alive! For more info, visit the events page here.

Havoc at the Pavek event. Pavek Museum Fall Events 2024

Havoc at the Pavek: Monster Mashup

Date/Time: Saturday, November 2, 10 AM – 5 PM CDT
Location: Pavek Museum, 3517 Raleigh Avenue, St. Louis Park, MN 55416

Looking for something a bit more hands-on? Havoc at the Pavek: Monster Mashup is perfect for all ages and will have you flexing your problem-solving muscles in a fun, monster-themed adventure. This event is part escape room, part STEM challenge, and 100% fun!

Participants will take on a mysterious quest led by the Council of Classic Monsters. As you make your way through the museum, you’ll encounter a series of STEM activities that will challenge your knowledge of electronic communication (with a monster-themed twist, of course).

The goal? Solve each puzzle and gather the clues needed to complete the quest. At the end, you’ll have your very own creation to take home! Pro tip: don’t miss our favorite thing at the Pavek – the theremin – it’s the only instrument in the world that produces music without needing to be touched!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Time Slots: The experience lasts about an hour, with start times available every 30 minutes throughout the day.
  • Ticket Info: Admission is free with registration via Eventbrite, or you can walk up and pay at the door ($11 for adults and $6 for students and military personnel).
  • Dress Code: Come in your casual wear or embrace the spooky spirit and dress up in your favorite Halloween or monster-themed costume!

Whether you’re bringing the whole family or looking for a fun solo activity, Havoc at the Pavek is an exciting way to explore science and history in a way you’ve never seen before. For more info, visit the events page here.
