Evgenii Sadrislamov, a 27-year-old Russian national living in Philadelphia, has been charged with several felonies, including manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, arson, and causing catastrophe. In addition to these charges, he faces a misdemeanor count related to possessing tools used in criminal activity.

The incident unfolded on the night of October 4, when Philadelphia police and firefighters were dispatched to a home on the 7100 block of Montague Street in Mayfair. Arriving at the scene, they found smoke billowing from Sadrislamov’s garage and residence. As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated while authorities conducted a thorough search of the property.

Authorities Evacuate Neighborhood as Bomb-Making Materials Are Discovered

What they discovered was alarming. The basement and garage of the row home housed materials used to build explosive devices. Federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), along with the Department of Homeland Security, were called to assist. Investigators ultimately recovered several homemade explosives and a significant amount of explosive powders.

In total, around 50 pounds of explosives were removed from the home. Law enforcement officials also uncovered a substantial amount of bomb-making literature, further indicating the suspect’s intent to cause harm.

Sadrislamov is currently being held on $950,000 bail, with his preliminary hearing scheduled for October 22. The ATF continues to lead the ongoing investigation, and local prosecutors have indicated that the case will be aggressively pursued to ensure accountability for the danger he posed to the community.
