Pow Wow Grounds: A Minneapolis Gem
Hey, guys! 🌟 If you’re looking to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day in a unique and delicious way, let’s talk about Pow Wow Grounds. Located in Minneapolis, this Indigenous-owned coffee shop has been at the heart of the community since 2010.
Whenever my hubby Jack and I visit the Twin Cities, this is one of our fave coffeeshops to grab a cup of pick me up! Hehe. Seriously, their coffee is so delish! 😻
Location & Hours
✅ You can find Pow Wow Grounds at 1414 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404. There is a small parking lot which offers free parking, but sometimes it gets full and you’ll have to park on a nearby side street. 🌎
✅ They are open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ⏰
Feed Your Cravings
This isn’t just your average coffee spot. Their menu is an incredible fusion of tradition and comfort. 😋
For breakfast, how about a Blueberry Wild Rice Muffin? And you’ve got to try their Wild Rice Breakfast Burritos! Oh, and please don’t even get me started on the wild rice yogurt parfaits. Yummo! 🍇
More Than Just Coffee
Owner Robert (Bob) Rice, of the White Earth Ojibwe tribe, is not just serving coffee; he’s serving culture. ☕
The wild rice in your soup or quiche? Harvested and processed by Bob himself! They even have “Indian Tacos” wrapped in fry bread on Fridays. Yum! 🌮
A Community Cornerstone
Pow Wow Grounds is more than just a place to grab a bite. It’s a hub for Native American residents and anyone else looking to find a cozy, friendly atmosphere. 🤝
You’ll often see elders chatting with the younger generation, sharing stories and wisdom. It’s a beautiful place to connect. ❤️
Not Just a Shop, It’s an Experience
Bob takes his Pow Wow Grounds on the road too! Look out for their food truck at special events and community gatherings. 🎉
One big highlight is the Wild Rice Festival in Roseville, where the food truck becomes a star attraction. 🚚
Let’s Celebrate Together
So, this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, why not make a trip to Pow Wow Grounds? It’s not just about enjoying fantastic food and coffee. It’s about celebrating a rich culture, connecting with a warm community, and maybe learning something new. 🎊🎈
