Prayer for Overcoming Depression

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, grateful for Your presence in our lives. Lord, we lift up everyone watching this video, asking for Your comforting hand to be upon them. You know their hearts, their struggles, and their pain. Right now, we ask that You begin to break the chains of depression, replacing the heaviness with Your light and love.

Father, we pray that You fill each listener with Your peace—peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to feel Your love surrounding them, lifting them up, and reminding them that they are never alone. Guide them through this day with Your strength and protection, and help them to see their purpose in You.

Lord, we thank You for the healing that is taking place in their lives, even now. We trust that You are working in ways we can’t always see, and that Your love is enough to overcome every obstacle. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today the Lord put these special verses in my heart:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Isaiah 61:3 – “To provide for those who grieve…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
