DELTONA, FL – A wild night in Deltona, Florida, took a messy turn when two teens set out to settle a score with an ex-boyfriend, only to douse the wrong vehicle in yellow paint. Fueled by a $700 grudge, the pair aimed to tag a black Infiniti with smiley faces and streaks. Instead, they left a neighbor scratching his head over a brightly defaced car—and cops stepping in to sort out the chaos.
Vandalism Gone Awry
It all kicked off in the early hours of Wednesday, around 2:30 a.m., in the 2800 block of Gramercy Drive.
Volusia County deputies rolled up to find a black Infiniti splashed with yellow paint, sporting cheerful doodles across its body. Nearby, a teen in a red hoodie and gray sweatpants strolled away from the scene. Her casual exit didn’t fool anyone—especially with yellow paint smeared on her pants, tipping off the deputies.
The car’s owner, an unsuspecting neighbor, had parked across the street from his home around 3 p.m. the previous day. He woke up to a vehicle makeover he never asked for, with damages pegged at roughly $5,000. Meanwhile, the real target—an ex-boyfriend who owed money—remained unscathed, his car nowhere in sight.
Teens Caught in the Act
Deputies quickly zeroed in on the culprits. The hooded teen, a 16-year-old girl, claimed she had nothing to do with it, but the evidence on her clothes told a different story.
Behind the wheel of a nearby Suzuki sat 18-year-old Evelina Fabianski, who later admitted she orchestrated the attack. She thought the Infiniti belonged to her ex, who owed her cash, and decided to let the spray paint fly. Her younger friend tagged along, adding a few eggs to the mix—at least three splattered across the car.
A neighbor caught the duo in action, spotting their slow approach in the Suzuki. When she confronted them, the hooded teen gave up Fabianski’s name and asked about the woman’s son before they bolted.
Inside the getaway car, deputies found open Four Loko bottles, 33.8 grams of marijuana, a glass pipe, an empty Crown Royal bottle, and a can of yellow spray paint stashed in the trunk.
Charges Stack Up
Both teens landed in handcuffs, facing charges of criminal mischief for damages exceeding $1,000.
Fabianski racked up extra trouble: contributing to the delinquency of a minor, underage possession of alcohol, and driving under the influence. She was hauled off to Volusia County Jail and has since posted bond. The 16-year-old ended up at the Volusia County Family Resource Center.
The Infiniti’s owner, an innocent bystander in this bungled revenge scheme, now faces a hefty repair bill. As for the ex-boyfriend? He dodged the paint—and the eggs—entirely. Deputies made it clear to the teens: their sloppy attempt at stealth didn’t cut it, leaving them with a costly lesson and a bright yellow mess.
