GRAND RAPIDS, MIA Fiery Act of Revenge Nearly Turns Deadly! Cops say a Michigan man allegedly drove more than 750 miles to Pennsylvania on a mission of revenge, setting fire to the home of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend while six people were inside. The residents barely escaped, with some leaping from second-story windows as flames engulfed the house. Now, the suspect faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide and arson.

Six People Fled for Their Lives

The chaos unfolded just after 5:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, when Bensalem police and firefighters rushed to a house fire.

According to officials, six adults were inside when the blaze broke out—forcing them to flee in terror, some jumping from the second floor to escape the flames.

Investigators quickly determined the fire was intentionally set.

Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s camera captured a suspect arriving in a black sedan, entering the home for several minutes, then sprinting back to the car before speeding away. The video was grainy, but detectives turned to nearby traffic cameras, one of which had a license plate reader. That breakthrough led them to a 2021 black Volkswagen Passat with Michigan registration.

A Love Triangle Gone Wrong

Detectives interviewed the residents and uncovered a key detail: a 21-year-old man who lived at the house had been speaking online with a woman from Michigan.

She was supposed to visit him in Pennsylvania that week, but police learned she had an ex-boyfriend—one who lived at the same address as the Volkswagen’s registered owner.

Authorities contacted the Kent County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, which executed a search warrant at the home of 23-year-old Harrison Jones. There, deputies seized the Volkswagen, lock-picking tools, a cell phone, and a computer.

When they confronted Jones, they made a chilling discovery—he allegedly had fresh burns on his arm.

Facing Justice

Authorities credited the swift teamwork between agencies in tracking down the suspect.

“We would especially like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Bensalem Township Police Officers, Fire Investigators, and Bensalem Detectives who took a grainy image of a vehicle and turned it into the arrest of a suspect who traveled over 700 miles and 11+ hours each way to commit crimes that nearly cost six people their lives,” police said in a statement.

Bensalem police secured an arrest warrant for Jones, charging him with six counts of attempted criminal homicide, arson, and risking catastrophe, among other offenses.

He was taken into custody in Michigan and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
