The derailment, which occurred in Littleton, disrupted traffic and raised concerns about possible delays, though authorities confirmed no hazardous materials were involved.
Road Blocked as Train Cars Leave the Tracks
Littleton police reported that three cars from a CSX train derailed on Gilson Road just after 6 a.m.
The incident left the rail cars blocking the crossing, forcing officials to shut down the road as crews worked to clear the scene.
“We are told the train is carrying printer paper and no hazardous materials,” police confirmed, assuring the public that there was no immediate danger.
Quick Response Restores Train Operations
Despite the disruption, officials said CSX crews acted swiftly to get the train back on the tracks. By 10:30 a.m., Gilson Road was reopened, minimizing major traffic impacts.
CSX reported no injuries linked to the derailment, and regular operations resumed shortly after.
Investigators are now working to determine what caused the train to come off the rails.
