NEW YORK, NY – Shana Wall, a former contestant on “The Amazing Race” and ex-girlfriend of TV personality Ryan Seacrest, has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines. Wall claims she was seriously injured after swallowing shards of plastic that were present in a beverage served to her on a flight from New York City to Rome.
Alleged Injuries and Legal Action
On May 1, Wall, 51, alleges that the plastic pieces caused damage to her throat, esophagus, vocal cords, and digestive system.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, states that the injuries have left her bedridden and unable to work. Wall is seeking unspecified damages for the alleged negligence, arguing that American Airlines failed to provide a safe and uncontaminated beverage.
American Airlines has not yet responded to the lawsuit or provided comments on the situation. Wall and her legal team have also not responded to requests for further information.
Background on Shana Wall
Wall, who previously dated Seacrest from 2003 to 2005, is known for her roles on “Marriedā¦ with Children” and “Entourage.”
She now works as a sommelier and contributes to Best Life magazine. Wall, who shares her wine and travel experiences with a large online following, was recently seen enjoying wine in northern Italy.
Previous In-Flight Incidents
This incident follows other reports of foreign objects found in airline meals.
In June, a passenger on an Air India flight reported discovering a metal piece in their meal. Last year, a Korean Air passenger found a piece of glass in her coffee, although neither passenger ingested the foreign objects.
The lawsuit highlights ongoing concerns about in-flight food safety and the responsibility of airlines to ensure that their services meet safety standards.
