BRANFORD, CT – A 30-foot sailboat ran aground early Wednesday on Taunton Rock outside Connecticut’s Branford Harbor, fire officials said.

The Branford Fire Department said it responded to the scene with two marine units, a rescue team and a drone team, but the sailboat’s sole occupant refused medical attention.

A drone video shared by the fire department showed the disabled sailboat bobbing in the water just as the sun was beginning to rise Wednesday, with rescue boats nearby.

The fire department said the owner of the boat called BoatUS to tow the boat off the rock and back to Branford Harbor.
