WINDSOR, GA – A heartbreaking text conversation between a terrified student and their mother, Erin Clark, has emerged following the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.
“school shooting rn I’m scared pls,” the student texted. “I’m not joking.”
Erin quickly replied, “I’m leaving work. I love you,” to which her child responded, “Love you too baby.”
Her child added, “someone’s dead.”
Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, was the scene of a tragic school shooting on Wednesday morning. Authorities confirmed that one suspect is in custody, and casualties have been reported, though specific details are still emerging.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m., prompting a massive response from local law enforcement and emergency services. Governor Brian Kemp has called for prayers for the community and assured that state resources are being deployed to support the investigation.
The Barrow County School District placed other campuses under lockdown as a precaution.
