The centerpiece of the discovery is a Greek biblical inscription from Deuteronomy, etched into the mosaic: “Blessed are you when you come in and blessed are you when you go out.” The site, which dates back to the fifth or sixth century C.E., has astonished researchers with its size, historical significance, and wealth of preserved artifacts.
The excavation, conducted as part of preparations for a new neighborhood development, has revealed an ancient complex that was once a thriving center of activity during the Roman and Byzantine periods.
