Matchmaker Maria, founder of Agape Match, offers these tips for a great first date:

  1. Get in the right mindset: Adjust your mindset to see the date as a fun experience rather than high stakes.
  2. Integrate a work-to-date buffer: If coming from work, stop by a bookstore or coffee shop to decompress.
  3. Dress with a splash of color: Bold colors like greens or soft purples can make a positive statement.
  4. Share a story: Instead of just answering questions, share stories to make the conversation more engaging.
  5. Be mindful: Show consideration and respect, which sets the right tone for the date.
