AUBURN, WA – The 2024 T-Rex World Championship Races at Emerald Downs saw an exciting turnout on August 17, with more than 200 participants sprinting down the 100-yard track in full dinosaur costumes. The event attracted a crowd of over 6,000 spectators, eager to witness the fun-filled competition.

Kids Race – Ages 11 & Under

In the youngest age category, Royce from Airway Heights, WA, emerged victorious, crossing the finish line first. At the other end of the spectrum, Westin Petree from Steilacoom, WA, took last place but stood out with his Dino-Rider costume.

Ages 12-16 Kids Race

The 12-16 age group saw Josias Colin from Lakewood, WA, taking the top spot in a close race, showcasing speed and agility among the young competitors.

Women’s Race

Paislie Thompson from Meridian, ID, dominated the Women’s Race, finishing ahead of her rivals with ease. Thompson, who works for TriGuard Pest Control, participated with great enthusiasm, honoring the company that began organizing the event several years ago.

Men’s Race

In the Men’s division, Cheyn Tam-Switzer from Bellevue, originally from Hawaii, clinched the win by a wide margin. His commanding performance in the Open Race was a highlight of the day.

Ages 50+ Race

The final category of the day was for competitors aged 50 and over. Bob from Renton, WA, showcased his endurance and speed, taking first place in this spirited race.

The T-Rex World Championship Races continue to be a fun and entertaining event, bringing communities together for a day of laughter and competition.
