The incident unfolded around 11 a.m. when the girl reported being followed by an unknown man for several blocks.
As she walked near the 1700 block of Pacific Boulevard Southeast, the man forced her into a red, four-door Toyota.
A Bold Escape on Sixth Avenue
The suspect drove the girl to the 3000 block of Sixth Avenue, where he briefly went inside a store.
In a moment of courage, the girl seized the opportunity, escaped on foot, and immediately contacted 911. Police arrived quickly to begin their investigation.
Suspect and Vehicle Description
Authorities have released surveillance images of the suspect and his car, hoping the public can help identify him.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, approximately in his 50s, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. He was last seen driving a red Toyota sedan.
