He wore many hats—poet, short story writer, editor, and critic. 🎩 Plus, he’s the genius we can thank for kickstarting the mystery and detective genres. 🕵️‍♂️ He even dipped his toes into what we’d now call science fiction!

Life was no walk in the park for young Poe. 👶 He lost his parents early and was taken in by a family that never formally adopted him. Money was super tight, and he even had to use a fake name to enlist in the army. 🎖️ Despite all the bumps in the road, he published his first poetry collection and later shifted to prose.

Love found Poe in the form of his young cousin, Virginia, but fate had other plans. 😢 She passed away from tuberculosis, and not long after, Poe also left this world under mysterious circumstances. 🕯️ But hey, the legacy he left behind? Simply unmatched!
