ANZALDUAS, TX — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Texas border confiscated cocaine with an estimated street value of $346,167 at the Anzalduas International Bridge over the weekend. The seizure, which occurred on Saturday, March 1, 2025, involved a 2015 Chevy Traverse and marked a significant drug bust at the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.
Vehicle Inspection Leads to Major Find
The incident began when a CBP officer flagged the Chevy Traverse for a secondary inspection at the bridge.
During the detailed check, authorities employed a nonintrusive inspection system and CBP canines to examine the vehicle. A subsequent physical search uncovered 10 hidden packages, containing a total of 25.92 pounds of alleged cocaine.
Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, overseeing operations at the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry, praised the diligence of the officers involved. He noted that their efforts effectively disrupted the flow of illegal narcotics across the border.
Narcotics and Vehicle Confiscated
Following the discovery, CBP seized both the cocaine and the 2015 Chevy Traverse.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents have taken over the case, launching a criminal investigation to trace the origins and intended destination of the drugs.
The seizure reflects ongoing efforts by CBP to combat smuggling along the U.S.-Mexico border.
