DALLAS, TX – When authorities arrested Michael Scott Howard on June 24, they didn’t expect the disturbing trail of evidence that would soon unravel. The 50-year-old from Dallas, Texas, already faced accusations of secretly filming boys in Life Time Fitness locker rooms across Minnesota. Now, a deeper investigation has exposed an even darker reality: a massive stash of CSAM tied to the same suspect.

Secret Recordings at Life Time Fitness Locations

Howard’s alleged crimes first came to light last year at two Life Time Fitness gyms in Minnesota.

On June 20, he reportedly captured nude photos and videos of boys in the Chanhassen location. The next day, June 21, he struck again at the Eden Prairie gym.

Court documents reveal that investigators recovered 23 videos and a large collection of photos showing men and mostly boys undressing in the locker rooms. The victims, estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old, had no idea they were being recorded.

For these actions, Howard already faces charges of interference with privacy against minors in Hennepin and Carver counties. But the case took a grim turn this week with new allegations.

Massive Child Abuse Material Found on Hard Drive

A search warrant executed on Howard’s work hard drive uncovered a staggering 343 photos and 80 videos of abuse material, according to charges filed in Hennepin County District Court.

In total, over 400 distinct media files were identified, painting a chilling picture of the suspect’s activities. The discovery has escalated the legal consequences Howard now faces.

New Charges and Potential Prison Time

This week, Howard was hit with four counts of possessing CSAM via summons. If convicted, the Texas native could spend up to 20 years behind bars. The combination of these charges with his earlier privacy violations has turned this case into a major criminal investigation, gripping authorities and communities in both Minnesota and Texas.

The ongoing probe continues to piece together the full scope of Howard’s actions, leaving many on edge as the court process unfolds.
