LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN – Wisconsin is home to an extraordinary landmark that has captured the attention of locals and tourists alike. The World’s Largest Six-Pack, a massive collection of beer storage tanks, stands as an impressive tribute to La Crosse’s brewing heritage. 📅 A Brief History
Constructed in 1969 by the G. Heileman Brewing Company, these enormous tanks were initially built to store surplus beer from the factory. In 1970, the company decided to paint the tanks, transforming them into a unique advertising opportunity and a symbol of the brewery’s headquarters and flagship brand. Following the company’s closure in 1996, the City Brewing Company took over the factory and tanks in 1999.
🎨 Evolving Aesthetics
The tanks underwent several visual transformations over the years. In 2000, the City Brewing Company painted the tanks completely white. However, in 2003, four of the six tanks were wrapped in vinyl covers featuring beer packaging designs.
Last year, with the announcement of Old Style beer’s return to production in La Crosse, the sculpture was once again adorned in its former packaging, rekindling nostalgia and excitement among beer enthusiasts.
