ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Police Department is searching for suspects who tunneled through a comedy club’s wall early Tuesday in order to break into a clothing boutique to steal designer jeans worth thousands of dollars per pair.
The comedy club Dynamic El Dorado, located on the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue SE, posted photos of the damage the burglars caused, and said the venue would be closed for “a bit” as a result.
“Around 3:20 am this morning some bad people broke in (and next door),” club operators wrote alongside the photos on Facebook Tuesday. “But don’t worry! We keep our stock of funny jokes at an off-site facility. All they took were notepads leftover after open mics. Let us know if you hear any ‘I’ll leave you with this’ jokes anytime soon.”
The burglars made their way into neighboring High Stakes Atlanta, a boutique clothing store, and stole multiple pairs of jeans reportedly valued at between $5,000 and $7,000 each.
While tunneling through the comedy club’s wall, the burglars reportedly struck a pipe, causing water damage in both storefronts.
The burglars got away before law enforcement arrived at the scene, but they were captured on surveillance video.
