HACKENSACK, NJ – A string of late-night break-ins at Dunkin’ Donuts locations across New Jersey came to a screeching halt when authorities nabbed their prime suspect. Enajaim E. Bowman, a 24-year-old local, surrendered to officials after a relentless two-month crime spree that left coffee shops reeling and law enforcement racing to crack the case. The brazen thefts, spanning multiple counties, piled up a hefty tab of stolen cash and shattered property.
The Crime Spree Unraveled
Between December 2024 and January 2025, this cunning crook targeted 14 Dunkin’ Donuts outlets in northern and central New Jersey, hitting Bergen, Middlesex, Morris, and Union counties.
Security footage captured the stealthy bandit prying open doors and windows under the cover of darkness. Once inside, Bowman zeroed in on cash registers, safes, and managers’ offices, leaving chaos in his wake.
The Damage Done
The tally from the 14 heists paints a grim picture: $18,267.16 in cold, hard cash swiped, $140 in gift cards snatched, and $10,000 in wrecked property.
Authorities also flagged a 15th botched attempt, where the suspect failed to breach the premises. Each job followed a chilling pattern—silent entry, swift plunder, and a trail of destruction.
Cops Close In
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, alongside Hackensack and Union Township police, pieced together the puzzle over weeks of tireless investigation.
Their efforts pinned Bowman as the mastermind. On February 25, the devious dynamo turned himself in, ending his reign over the region’s donut empire.
Charges Pile Up
Now, this doughnut-dashing desperado faces a laundry list of accusations: 14 counts of third-degree burglary, one count of attempted burglary, 12 counts of third-degree theft, plus a mix of criminal mischief charges—two at third-degree and seven at fourth-degree.
With the suspect locked up, New Jersey Dunkin’ fans can rest easy, knowing their donuts are safe—at least for now.
