Tooth Fairy Tightens Her Purse Strings: Midwest Kids’ Hit Worst!
Is the tooth fairy feeling the pinch? Kids’ tooth payouts are down for the first time in 5 years! And Midwestern kids are hit the worst! 😲 #ToothFairy #Kids #Money
Minneapolis, Minnesota – For the first time in five years, the tooth fairy is being a bit stingy. Kids are finding less money under their pillows for their lost teeth. It seems like parents, who help the tooth fairy out, are feeling the pinch from high prices these past two years.
The average amount a kid gets for a tooth has gone down by 6% to $5.84. But don’t worry, it’s still a lot more than what kids got back in 1998, which was only $1.30.
Careful With Her Cash
A company called Delta Dental keeps an eye on what the tooth fairy is up to. They say that usually, the tooth fairy’s generosity follows how well the economy is doing. But this time, it’s a bit different. Even though the economy is doing better, the tooth fairy is being a bit more careful with her cash.
Midwest Kids Hit Hardest
Depending on where you live, the amount you get for a tooth can vary. In the West, kids are making a killing with $8.54 per tooth. That’s a 37% increase! In the Northeast, it’s $6.87, which is also more than the average. But in the South, things have gone down to $5.51, and the Midwest is at the bottom with $3.63 per tooth.
And for that very first tooth you lose? It’s a special one, so it gets a bit more cash. But even that has gone down a bit to $7.09.
