CHICAGO, IL – Trader Joe’s is recalling around 653,000 Mango Tangerine Scented Candles because the flame can spread from the wick to the wax, posing a fire hazard.

The recall includes Trader Joe’s Mango Tangerine Scented Candles with SKU 56879, sold at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide in June 2024 for about $4, according to a notice posted by the U.S. consumer Product Safety Commission. The recalled candles are in a tin container and weigh about 5.7 ounces.

The company said it has received 14 reports of “high flames” with the recalled candles, including three reports of minor property damage and two reports of minor burns.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Trader Joe’s store for a full cash refund. Consumers can also complete an online Product Feedback Form to receive a $4 Trader Joe’s gift card by mail instead.

Consumers who submit the online form will receive a response from Customer Relations requesting a receipt or photo of the recalled candle.
