A Tragic Discovery in Oregon’s Wilderness

The body of Susan Lane-Fournier was found on Friday, November 29, near East Highway 26 and East Miller Road, prompting an immediate investigation. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the following day that the cause of death was homicide, following an autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office.

Alongside Lane-Fournier’s body, two deceased dogs were found, believed to be her pets. The dogs were later transferred to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, where authorities are working to confirm their ownership.

The Search for Lane-Fournier

Lane-Fournier was reported missing on Friday, November 22, after failing to show up for work. The discovery of her white 1992 Ford F-250 on Saturday, November 23, near East Salmon River Road and the Green Canyon Way Trail further fueled the belief that she had gone hiking in Mt. Hood National Forest with her dogs.

A search and rescue operation ensued, but the search ended in tragedy when her body was found a week later.
