Rochester, MN – A new study from Realtor.com has found that when it comes to buying a home, the location of a person’s mom is a top priority for many Americans. According to the data, nearly half of all U.S. adults have either moved or plan to move closer to their mom.

With housing costs still sky-high, many potential buyers and sellers are finding themselves stuck on the sidelines. But moving closer to family can help cut costs in a few ways. For one, the area might be less expensive. Plus, having family nearby can mean saving on childcare costs. And if you move in with family and pool your resources, you might be able to afford a bigger space or a better location.

Even though the median list price nationwide hasn’t gone up compared to last year, the price per square foot has. And when you factor in rising mortgage rates, the cost to buy a home is outpacing wage growth. It’s no wonder people are looking for ways to save!
