OXFORD, MS – A stretch of road in Mississippi was closed Wednesday after a semi-truck lost its load of beer, and police warned motorists to avoid the area while crews worked to clean it up.

The Oxford Police Department said Jefferson Avenue was closed between North Lamar Boulevard and North 9th Street “due to an 18 wheeler losing part of its load.”

The police department shared photos of the lost load strewn across the road, including cases of Bud Light, Natural Light, Modelo Especial, Corona Extra, Michelob Ultra, and others.

Oxford is home to the University of Mississippi, and apparently anticipating the response of some residents, police warned that, “no, you cannot come help ‘clean up’.”
