MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl, with details about the incident still unclear, according to a search warrant affidavit filed Monday.
The victim, Tyra Kiyae Terry, was shot Saturday afternoon at a house on the 3400 block of N. Logan Ave. in Minneapolis. She was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale but did not survive.

The police report released Monday states that two boys, ages 16 and 17, are being held on suspicion of assisting an offender in avoiding arrest. The case is being treated as a homicide.
Police Sgt. Garrett Parten confirmed that both teenagers are still in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
A police statement to reporters on Saturday indicated that two adults and two teenagers were present at the house when officers arrived. The search warrant affidavit later revealed that an unknown individual fled the scene before police arrived.

The affidavit, which authorized the search of the property, detailed that Terry was found with a gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom. Although a firearm magazine was visible on the bedroom floor, no gun was discovered in the room.
During a search later that day, police found a gun with a magazine, four additional magazines, live ammunition, a gun case, two gun boxes, a rifle butt, and a duffle bag with various firearm items. They also seized drugs, a digital scale, and ten cellphones.
The police chief expressed concern over the shooting, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. He pointed out that the incident could highlight issues with gun safety or reflect rising youth violence.
Records show that police have responded to the address several times since December 2021, including calls related to gunfire detection, residential alarms, and suspicious activity.
