MINNEAPOLIS, MNMinneapolis residents are on edge after a disturbing string of violent robberies left victims battered and shaken on Thursday night. The attacks, occurring in just over three hours, signal a growing threat to the safety of ordinary people trying to go about their daily lives – in a city that appears to be growing more violent by the minute.

A Night of Terror Unfolds

In a span of just three hours, four separate robberies were reported across different Minneapolis neighborhoods, leaving a trail of fear and violence. The chaos began shortly after 10 p.m. when a group of men ambushed a victim near West Lake Street and Colfax Avenue South, stealing his bag and keys before fleeing in a vehicle.

Barely two hours later, at 12:43 a.m., the same group targeted another man in the 3400 block of Emerson Avenue South. This time, the attack was brutal—the victim was physically assaulted and robbed of his belongings before being rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. The violence only escalated as the night went on.

Increasing Aggression and Escalating Violence

Not long after, at 1 a.m., another terrifying encounter occurred near West Lake Street and Humboldt Avenue South. A man sitting in his car was caught off guard when the group suddenly began rifling through his pockets before attacking him. Paramedics arrived at the scene to treat his injuries, as bystanders watched in horror.

The night of terror culminated with a final robbery reported at 1:26 a.m. on the 2800 block of 31st Street West. This time, the group not only assaulted their victim but stole the person’s car, leaving the area in the stolen vehicle and raising fears that anyone could be next.

Rapid Police Response

As the violent spree unfolded, the Minneapolis Police Department activated their “Robbery Pattern Protocol,” a strategy designed to flood areas affected by violent crime. Officers not on emergency calls swarmed the neighborhoods, searching for the criminals before they could harm more victims.

The Minnesota State Patrol quickly joined the search, dispatching a helicopter to track the gang as they sped into north Minneapolis in one of the stolen cars. The pursuit came to a dramatic end when the suspects abandoned the vehicle near 84th Avenue North and Regent Avenue North.

Officers managed to arrest three individuals: one adult and two juveniles. The adult was taken to Hennepin County Jail, while the juveniles were sent to the Juvenile Detention Center. All three are facing charges of aggravated robbery.

A City in Fear

These violent incidents have rattled the community, raising questions about the growing danger in Minneapolis. With four brazen robberies in one night, residents are left wondering if they could be the next targets. Many are now questioning whether the city is doing enough to keep their neighborhoods safe.

“We’ve always felt relatively safe here, but this… this makes you rethink everything,” said one resident who lives near one of the crime scenes.

What’s Next for Minneapolis?

As authorities continue to investigate, the fear is palpable. For now, Minneapolis citizens are urged to stay vigilant and take every precaution necessary to protect themselves.

With juveniles involved in these crimes, it raises concerns about the rising wave of youth violence and how it’s fueling crime in the city. What’s more troubling is the increasing brazenness of these attacks, leaving residents to wonder if they will ever feel safe again.
