LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA – Renowned war photographer Christian Paul Lowe spent his career capturing human conflict through his lens, but this weekend, his life ended in a tragic confrontation far from the frontlines. His teenage son, Emir Abadzic Lowe, has been charged with his murder near a picturesque waterfall in California’s San Gabriel Mountains. A Tragic Scene in the Mountains
Authorities have identified Emir Abadzic Lowe as the teenager accused of killing his father, Christian Paul Lowe, who was a renowned war photographer. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at Stoddard Canyon Falls on Mount Baldy Road around 3:28 p.m. on Saturday.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim suffering from trauma to his upper torso. San Bernardino Fire Department personnel pronounced the elder Lowe dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing Emir driving away from the waterfall area. Just a few miles down the road, he was involved in a solo traffic collision, leading to his detention.
The sheriff’s office announced Emir’s arrest on Sunday after he was taken into custody pending further investigation. On Tuesday, officials confirmed that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged him with one count of murder.
