Just like Miami, Winona enjoys some of the warmest temperatures in its state, making it a cozy spot to escape the cold.
Heck, when it’s -10° below zero, we’ll gladly take a few extra degrees where we can get it! Typically, Winona runs several degrees warmer than the Twin Cities, for example.
The story behind this intriguing nickname caught the attention of many when the local tourism board decided to run with the idea in an advertising campaign.
